As far as i know the decal will not appear on any drawings and the only way to print it wouldbe to either print from the within the assembly or once rendered.

I have re-installed 3 times and I still get this message.

I have used this many times as we too use Allegro and ProE. The best bit about the Ecad interface is that you can substitute proper models of your PCB components with the blocky components Ecad creates. All you need to do is import the EMN & EMP files, this will create your PCB assembly...
I learnt it by just using it with various tutorials that I obtained on the internet. I didn't find it particularly difficult to pick up.

When using a quilt/surface to add/remove solid geometry, the command has three choices:
Solidify, cut and patch.
Solidify and cut are obvious, but I don't know what the patch does. Why would one use patch instead of the others?

The key to rendering is the correct use of the lighting. The default lights will make the final rendering look washed out.
What I found to be a good way to get started is to turn all the default lights off. Then it's easier to see the effects of any new lights that you add.

I have got a PCB that has 5 switches on. One of the switches is a different part than the other 4, but they all use the same PCB footprint/symbol. As the refdes is unique to each PCB component, is it possible to use the refdes to tell ProE which part to assemble.

The datecode for Wildfire installed is 2003490.
It's such a pain that you cannot save to an earlier version, and I don't mean saving as a neutral file etc. That is soooo long winded. Tehe problems I have is that most of the companies we deal with use 2001 and aren't willing to change...
It sounds like you have created the part in normal modelling mode and not the sheetmetal mode. Send me the part and I'll have a look. In the email, please tell me which ProE version you are running.
