Yep, they got the transient current completely wrong... And that causes a lot of errors else where. In the software manual, they calculate the symmetrical (SB) and asymmetrical (ASB) breaking currents as follows:
I(sb) = I" + (I" - I') x e(-25 x Tb)
And the asymmetrical breaking current (ASB)...
After reading my post, I realized that I have not provided any relevant information that may be useful for you to help me.
One of the surprising results that I got, though not really a shocking one, the 1ph faults have higher currents that 3ph faults.
Anyway, at one of my generation sites, I...
Hi all,
I've got this software package that calculates the fault levels for our transmission network according to IEC60909 Method-C, which is the equivalent frequency method. Such as the make duty is calculated using instantaneous peak with DC component adjusted X/R is calculated at an...
Ok... I can see that almost everyone saying that it is the second formula. My problem is to do with the resistance.
I can still accept a negative reactance (as shown above), but will also yeild negative resistance, which is hard to accept!
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I'm confused about how to model a 3-winding transformer as three 2-winding transformers in star-formation. I was under the impression that it is a simple Delta-to-Star conversion of the impedances, but it is not according to some.
I've got an Autotransformer with a delta tertiary...
