If you look in your Solid Edge installation directory there is a SDK folder there with documentation, sample programs, etc. Everything you want to do should be possible.
If you want a class, a "Developer Day" was added to Solid Edge University this year that covers this: http://solidedgeu.com/29
Point loads, no. Basically, this leads to very high stress concentrations and Express doesn't give you the tools to really understand what is going on. You can do it with Solid Edge Simulation.
For a pressure over a selected area, you just have to cut the face and apply the load to the sub...
Solid Edge ST3 generated a lot of press. You should find quite a few reviews, comparisons and blogs if you google for
"Solid Edge ST3" or"Solid Edge ST3 versus SolidWorks"
BTW - I work on the FEA code for Solid Edge
No chance of upgrading to ST3? Its getting A TON of positive press because of the integration of synch and history and greatly improved and customizable UI.

OK, I see...
So what you have is not technically a round since it is not tangent where the cylindrical part meets dome part. You have a slight edge.
Like HDS said, you could use a spline or parabolic to get something smooth but I guess that wouldn't match the original design.
The top face ends up getting consumed and there is no more face to round to.
In the worst case, you can sketch a 0.4 arc tangent to the side of the cylinder and going to the center line of the cylinder. From that, you can create s region that can be rotated around the end of the cylinder to...
I do this a lot.
If marketing just needs small pictures, the best is to set your background to solid white and just use a tool like Screen Hunter to grab what you want (Free: http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter.htm )
If they need high rez, then save your image as a .bmp. JPG is a...
Yeah, there are a lot of people out there that could benefit. I think that was part of the motivation to open GTAC up more the last couple months. It would be nice if it could be expanded a bit more to cover people in your situation.

P.S. you still might get someone at your company to...
beachcomber,
So you know, GTAC just changed how access to their site works. Some companies block it for their employees because they could access downloads and other stuff. Now you can get a limited webkey with just your SoldToID without the CAD Admin having to worry.

Hi folks,
For the missing Next button, you need to get one of the ST2 maintenance packs (MP1 or later). ST2 was released before Windows 7 and this problem was fixed right after it came out.
ST3 works great with Windows 7 even taking advantage of some new graphics functionality.

I wish you could go to ST3. You can customize the whole ribbon. I saw one guy on another news group had almost his entire set of commands on one tab. Plus the radial menu and gestures really cut down the need for going to the ribbon at all.
When I worked on IDEAS Master Series, we used to call...
I understand. I forwarded your original comment to the product manager that works on the steering wheel. I was just looking for the best solution in todays software.
Mark
I just tried it by moving the steering wheel to the datum face. You are right. It displays the distance to the cursor, not the total distance to moving face.
Of course, you could just add a smart dimension and use that to move the faces. If that distance is a design parameter, chances are you...
Hi folks,
ST3 was released today. The big news is you no longer have to choose between doing your whole part in either Synchronous or traditional (history). You can now use both at the same time.

I just switched to Windows 7 64 bit and have been more than happy with the speed and stability. Yea, it takes some time to get email going and all your files moved but you come out of it much more efficient.
Support for the older OS's gets harder because like lapuser said, Microsoft is dropping...
