    Low Temp Properties

Does anyone know where I can get low temperature properties, stress-strain curve, yield strength, modulus, for unfilled PPO+PS and 15% glass reinforced PP. I'm looking for properties at -20 degrees C.

    General Drawing Tolerances

I am interested in finding out if the field is moving away from using a general, or boiler-plate tolerance block on a drawing format or if most organizations are continuing to use it. Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Dimensioning from datum centerplane

KENAT - You are correct. I want to dimension non-symetrical features from the centerplane rather than an edge of the datum feature. Thanks,

    Dimensioning from datum centerplane

Can features be dimensioned from the centerplane of a true geometric counterpart of a non-cylindrical feature of size datum?

    ASTM Equivalency for 1144 Straight

Can anyone tell me if there is an ASTM standard that is equivalent to AISI 1144 Straight (not Stressproof and not stress-relieved).

    Automotive adhesive solvent

Thanks for your response. It's a fired porcelain finish as found on an appliance component so, my guess is, it would be resistant to most solvents.

    Automotive adhesive solvent

Does anyone know of a solvent that will remove a medallion from a porcelain finish without damaging the surface? The medallion is fixed to the surface using an automotive trim type adhesive. This is a salvage need so quantities are low.

    Formed Sheet Metal Spline

Does anyone know of a standard for formed sheet metal splines when the need for a standard involute spline isn't required?

    DuPont Nylind 51 HSL

Has anybody had any experience with the use of regrind in molding Nylind 51 HSL glass fiber reinforced nylon. Specifically, I am looking for a percentage of regrind that can be used without shorting the glass fiber length.

    Resin Starvation

Other than cold cavity surface (less than 150 degrees F), what kind of molding conditions would contribute to the lack of a resin-rich surface of a gear molded out of Celcon GC25A?

    Gear Tooth Profile Template

I need to check the profile of the tooth surface of a 52 tooth, 17 NDP, 20 degree PA molded plastic gear. Does anyone know of templates which may be available to use on an optical comparator or, perhaps, of a better way to measure the gear tooth profile?

    Proper Terminology

I remember when Y14.5 Standard for Dimensioning and Tolerancing first was introduced, the term applied for the tolerance of a hole location defined by basic dimensions was "True Position". Later, the term was changed and became "Position". Does anyone know if it has been changed back to "True...

    Stainless Steel Fatigue Strength

I am looking for anyone having a bad experience due to changing from 301 to 201 stainless in thicknesses in the .035 to .045 range, specifically due to a cycling load.

    Corosion Resistant Coatings

The friction is only bonded to a small percentage of the surface of the part. The part has to pass a salt spray test.

    Patterns

Pro/E was origionally sold solely by Autotrol Technologies in Thornton, CO. At that time, while it was called Pro/ENGINEER, it was marketed as an Autotrol product and, since Parametric Technology had no interest in making drawings with Pro, it was marketed with Autotrol Series 7000 with Pro as...

    Corosion Resistant Coatings

I have an application in which I will be gluing a friction material to mild steel which needs to have a corosion resistant coating. Currently, the coating is zinc phosphate but I can switch to zinc di-chromate if need be. The adhesive is phenolic based and is baked at 400 degrees F. My...

    Patterns

I have been successfully creating patterns as well as reference patterns since Release 6 in about 1987. I have never had a problem such as this. In 1992 I began design of the Harley-Davidson VR1000 Race Bike Chassis using Pro. It was introduced in Feb 1994 at the Daytona 200 mile race. Used...

    Patterns

Thanks for all your posts but, I guess, the bottom line is that Pro can't do what it used to do before with ease. I've gone ahead and done it as (5) seperate cuts. Hopefully they will be able to get this thing fixed.

    Patterns

I am trying to create a radial pattern to form five spokes in a wheel. When I use (2) as the number of instances it works well but if I try to change it to (5) it fails. Am I having a problem with this build of Wildfire 2.0. I'm sure the section I am trying to cut will fit in a 72 degree segment.

    Poisson's Ratio

Does anybody know what Poisson's Ratio is for 430 Stainless? I have checked Matweb.com and can't seem to find it.
