We have a HP DesignJet 600 that is on its last leg. We are thinking about buying a HP 430 DesignJet to replace the 600. I would like to know if anyone is using the HP 430 with Pro/E how well do you like it and how difficult was it to get working with Pro? We only use black here so we have no...
When we created shrinkwraps in Pro/E 2001 we used a quality level of 3-4 to get a good shrinkwrap model. About 3 months ago we installed Wildfire build 490. Now when we create shrinkwrap models we need to bump the quality level up to 8 or 9 to get a good shrinkwrap model. Any lower quality level...
We have a user here who has a 10 sheet drawing. Sheet 1 is the assembly of a test stand. On sheet 4 he has a sub-assembly. He wants to put the sub-assembly BOM on sheet 4 which is no problem. On sheet 1 he wants just one balloon in the BOM to call out the sub-assembly. We never did this before...
I'm not sure if this will work in Wildfire, but in previous versions it did. You need to add the following to your config.pro file.
rename_drawings_with_object both
The drawing does not have to be "in session". The model may be a part or assembly.
Perform a File, Save As on the model. The...
Michael,
Thanks for the reply. I got to step A2 above. When I hit the compute button to create the analysis everything is ok. But when I close the analysis window there is nothing else to pick, (Then choose yes to create a Result Parameter for volume.). Where do I create a result parameter for...
I have a family table with 4 instances in it. The engineer wants the volume added to the FT and be parametric so if the part changes size the volume will update. Is there a way to do this? If so how? Running 2001. TIA for all your help.

im4cad,
I found the problem. I opened the assembly and started at the end of the model tree, where I would delete the last component, do a regen, then verified the family table. About 8 components into the model tree I found two components that where assembled wrong, although I did not receive...
im4cad,
Thanks for the reply. I opened a new session of Pro/E, then opened the generic. I picked Regenerate > Automatic and the generic regenerated without any failures. I then verified the FT again and got the same results as above. Any other suggestions?

I have a problem with an assembly that has 4 instances. When I open the generic and verify the family table the first three instances verify successfully. The last instance fails. I can open the last instance and it opens OK. There are no errors or anything as to why the instance fails when...
I have two drawings, both single sheets, (dwg_1 & dwg_2), and two models, (model_1 & model_2). Model_2 was created using the merge command with model_1. Now the engineer wants to make a two sheet drawing of dwg_1 where the second sheet is dwg_2. So the end result would be dwg_1 sheet 1 of 2 and...
I've created a four level, (nested), family table. I checked the FT into common space, (Intralink). In common space I can see all the generics and all the instances. Now here is the problem. When I pick the lowest level instance and then pick "check out", Intralink will check out the...
I have an assembly model of two tubes. One is a horizontal 2.5" dia tube and the other is a 1.50" dia vertical tube. The assembly looks like a "Tee". My problem is when I created a drawing the "arc line" at the intersection of the smaller tube into the larger tube...
I can't seem to get this to work and maybe there isn't a way to accomplish this. Here is what I'm trying to do. I created a user-defined parameter as a string in my model called dwg_rev. I put this parameter in my drawing revision block, (dwg_rev). I went to my model and put an “A” in for the...
I have an assembly that uses a junction box that another user modeled. The junction box was modeled using protrusions and cuts,(not an assembly). In my assembly model I created an assembly cut on just the front of the junction box. On my assembly drawing I need to show two views of the box. One...
I have an assembly with a family table. The instances are accessories to the main assembly. I created a drawing with the main assembly view and two views that show the accessories. There are (4) .375 nuts used in the main assembly view and (1) .375 nut used in one of the accessory views. I have...
