what material is that? for steel, *plastic will do the compression and tension strength of the material. for concrete, u have to define compression and tension seperately. i.e *concrete damaged plasticity, *tension softhening. hope this help.

yes, you have to use composite section in shell, divide the shell thickness (say 100mm) into parts (say 5 parts), hence u will have 5 x 20mm thick of shell, u could apply amplitude to the shell with different temperature. mambo5
