    Copyright symbol..

Only way to keep the drawing from being copied is to never send drawings outside of the company. People will do everything they can to copy something. I've seen customers send us competitor drawings without title block, with title block identifiers blacked out...etc.

Part drawings varying based on assm configs

"Whatever method works for your organization and comfort level with SW should be used." It will also depend on your past experiences with older versions and their lack of functionality. :D I have been burned in the past by not breaking external links. I don't deny their role in speeding up...

    Experience with reducing employee hours

20% cut is a pretty sizable cut in salary. We just had our salaries reinstated from a 5% cut that lasted nearly a year. I must say that being on the receiving end that you eventually get into the mindset that it won't be reinstated. Then if it does you feel like you got a raise :D

    Organizing emails

We have project folders on our network with Communications sub-folders. Typically an email will be printed to PDF and stored in the specified folder. Attachments will then be saved in a different folder. The emails are saved with a date code of when the email was sent. My personal email in...

Confidentiality and Noncompete Agreement 2.5 years into employement

Last company that I worked for had me sign one on the way in. When they let me go, I asked for a list of companies that I couldn't work for. They failed to produce one so I ignored it when looking for new work.

    Resume Questions

I've been in the ME role in exempt industry for almost 10 years now so I dropped all of the coursework bullets from my resume. This has left me to expand more into my work history to show real world relevance. Coursework is good and all but unless you show that you can adapt that to actual...

Educated Opinions on Climate change - a denouement or a hoax?

    Look up syngas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syngas

Educated Opinions on Climate change - a denouement or a hoax?

True but it still ends up on land but you don't hear people screaming about it. Cranky's suggestion of making all building heat run off of natural gas isn't going to make much of a difference. You still have to drill for NG and I'm not sure how many buildings still run off of heating oil but...

Educated Opinions on Climate change - a denouement or a hoax?

What's going to happen when a barge of bio-diesel spills or runs aground? If you are really worried about environmental impact, you would realize that bio-fuels, windmills and other 'clean' energy all impact the environment more than oil. As rb stated "the law of unintended consequences...

Greg It shouldn't surprise you that those are based off of computer models, which we all know are no where near accurate.

Educated Opinions on Climate change - a denouement or a hoax?

I agree with Greg on the optimum speed on vehicles. My car gets about 10% higher mileage at 75mph vs 60mph. Though some of that could be the all of the stops that I have to compare it to. At the same time you aren't always cruising at 75mph, you have those times where slower vehicles get in...

    Recent Volcano Greenhouse Gases

Haven't seen anything solid, nor will we, but they are saying that we cut CO2 by grounding the planes. They say that it wasn't releasing much CO2 but it was dumping tons of other gasses. I wouldn't believe any of them, tbh.

Recycling centers won't take them. Have to take them to the incinerator. Or just invite some friends over for a bon-fire. Just to be sure to use gasoline or used motor oil to ignite the tree since it hasn't fully dried.

Agree with Kenat and now rerig.

Can SW crashing be a user problem instead of computer problem?

Just a note, same PC's built at the same time can easily suffer from different issues. Not all PC's are the same, especially ones built a year apart with different OS's.

    should i accept a low-ball offer?

My only comment is that you have to assume that you didn't pass until you have the letter in your hands. You have to take your present value, unless you will get your letter within 2 days.

    interview dress code for engineers

ornerynorsk Typically, I keep the jacket on until I am in the conference room and right before I sit down I will drape it over the back of the chair. No reason to be more uncomfortable during the actual interview than you have to be.
