Smooth motion at low rpm with VFD

I managed to improve the smoothness greatly with the current hardware. The story is long why but I changed the "Motor Rated Voltage" setting to 170V from 200V and the rotation at 5Hz VFD output is much much smoother. The VFD is plugged in a laptop and I had the following figures on screen with...

Data acquisition of signals from torque sensor

Hi Trainee28, What the sensor is capable is one thing but it depends on what you would like to observe. Most likely you will not need 10kHz sampling rate but even if you would need that is not a problem. Have a look what NI offers e.g. the USB 6009 logger.

Smooth motion at low rpm with VFD

Many many thanks to all of you for your advise! Jraef pointed out that not all VFD Vectrol Controls are equal. What about motors, could be a difference between motors running from identical VFDs? I definitely will follow Jraef’s advise as I have to replace the VFD so I will look into more what...

Smooth motion at low rpm with VFD

Hi All, I would like to pick your brains if I may. I try to run a motor with FVD at very low speed, even just with a few Hz. I know this is not recommended and could lead to problems but ignoring that... I observed that the motor is not turning in a smooth manner rather like the second hand...

4-post test rig for damper setup

Dear All, Thank you for your posts! I found the article about the Ohlins rig quite interesting. My main interest is rally and touring cars so I am not sure how dominant the pitch issue is. Pete and gt6racer2, Both of you mentioned load variation. The article suggested by lateapex shows 'grip...

4-post test rig for damper setup

Dear All, I am looking for information about the use of the 4-post test rig for damper setup evaluation. If anyone would be kind to share his/her knowledge or would point me to the source of information, I would like to know what excitation is used and what measures are evaluated to compare two...
