I am trying to use existing spare c

I am trying to use existing spare circuitry on a board to supply the controlling inputs to an SSR. It seems what I have most readily available are a comparator circuit and some optoisolators. The relay is the Crydom CMX60D10. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

    Current Sensing circuit issue

Yes Rajeev, exactly. Unfortunately, I don't believe I am permitted to post a diagram of the circuit, no matter how simple. I have tried the circuit with a DC current and with a 100Hz sine wave input, since the input signal will not be changing too rapidly. In both cases, it had the same result.

    Current Sensing circuit issue

"So you're using a sense resistor of 100 mohms, and your two connecting traces combined are 100 mohms, as well?" The one 8 mil trace branching off from the sense resistor to the input resistor to the positive side of the opamp is about 50 mOhms. The trace branching off of the other side of the...

    Current Sensing circuit issue

We had measured the impedance of the trace and it was only about 50 mOhms. The trace is only about an inch long. Also, there were two separate boards with the same artwork and both boards were acting in the same manner, so it was not a random flaw in just that particular board. Thanks for...

    Current Sensing circuit issue

I have recently designed a servo loop circuit in which current is sensed across a 0.1 ohm resistor and fed back into the input. The difference across the resistor is fed into an opamp with a gain of 10. The output of this opamp with the current artwork is approximately 30% higher than expected...

    DC Motor Friction resistance

Well, I have the motor available to me as well as any of the equipment I would need. So basically, I can take any measurements that would not include taking the motor apart. And yes, the friction resistance has to be determined separately from the winding resistance.

    DC Motor Friction resistance

Does anyone know how I can find the friction resitance of a motor assembly from performing measurements?

    Voltage Level Shifting

Yes I am talking about -12V to 5V....and no I am not converting between RS232 and TTL. But I have actually found a solution to my problem that does not require any voltage translation. Thank you for the suggestions, though!!

    Voltage Level Shifting

I am trying to figure out the best way, with the least number of components to translate a voltage from -12V-5V to 0V-5V. I am using a comparator to compare negative voltages and the only negative voltage I have available to me on my board is -12V, so I have to use this voltage to supply the...

    Power Distribution Job

I guess it's not so much a "plant"....it's technically a utility company that deals with distribution planning and implementation. I'm somewhat new to the industry. I've had my current job (my first besides and internship) for about a year and a half. My company designs and build training...

    Power Distribution Job

I am thinking of applying for a job at a local power distribution plant. Can anyone who has been in the field for a while give me some pointers on things that I should be knowledgeable about in the interview? It would be a great help!

    Transistorised Relay

Can anyone tell me if there is something more up-to-date to replace transistorised relays, or if not, a company that manufactures them?

    windows apps on windows CE

I wrote some software in vb.net and vb6 and was wondering if there was anyway to get this software onto a windows CE machine without recoding. Does any emulator or other method exist that you know about that will allow me to do this? Thank you for any help that you can give me.

    Phase Rotation Detector

Well, this unit that we have is only good for 12 volts....I think this is only because the meter that we use on this unit is only good for 1mA.....and so i think if I play with some resistor values, that may work to draw a little less current at a higher voltage....any ideas? And thank you by...

    Phase Rotation Detector

It's a passive circuit using resistors and caps.

    Phase Rotation Detector

Can anyone fill me in on how a phase rotation detector works? I need to alter an existing design, but I'd like to understand how they works before attempting to do that. Any help would be great!

    Overspeeding baldor motor drive

The drive that I am using is a baldor inverter control Series 15H, cat # ID15H205-E. I am not personally the one who talked to Baldor. My boss just told me that he talked to them and it was possible and told me to figure out how. I can't understand why, when asking them if it possible, he...

    Overspeeding baldor motor drive

I am wondering if anyone knows how to overspeed a baldor motor using a baldor inverter control. It is currently running at max 1700rpm and i need it to run at 2400rpm. I am sure it can be done because I have contacted baldor and they said it is possible. Now I just need to figure out how...

    Computed Tomography

Does anyone have any extensive information on Computed Tomography? I'm interviewing for an internship at a company that desigs CT systems and I wanted to get an understanding on the subject before the interview. Thanks to anyone who can help!!
