We have been sent a Turbocad (.tcw) file and need to re-save it as either a dwg or dxf to enable us to use it in Solidworks. Does anyone have or know where you can download a free convertor / translator to do this??
Thanks

I seem to remember being told not to install desktop search in a previous version of SW, is this still the case with SW2008? Does it cause any performance issues?
Thanks

Try adding a mate reference onto the part you are inserting, this will speed up the process, but will create new mates not use the existing ones.

All,
Does anyone know from SW World or otherwise if SW are thinking of re-writing the code to utilise all cores of a processor rather than just one. I know SW uses more than one core for certain things but not opening files and this is where we have our major performance hit. If they were to...

Will this work for older versions i.e Windows 2000 server? If so what is the function required for this? Also does this apply to PDMWorks server installations, as this is what would be installed on the server not Solidworks??
Thanks

Thanks for the info, but I was already aware that 2000 server wasn't supported, I just wondered if anyone was in the same situation as us and had already tried it with SW2008.
Thanks

Does anyone have a macro / API code for adding the DateCompleted to existing SW parts / assemblies. I can get it to add into new files by adding it to the custom properties in the templates. I've also added it to the custom properties in the Vault Admin tool.
The problem I have is PDMWorks...
We have a lot of network traffic, but we've tested the same files local and the time difference isn't that much better.
We do have very large assemblies 50K+ parts. We've changed direction slightly and are saving our full models as part files (multi body) and using them in full layouts this...
Does anyone have any thoughts on using a non-certified Nvidea 512Mb graphics card rather than a SW certified card? We mainly struggle with CPU usuage rather than graphics so we were considering testing a non-certified card.
Our hardware supplier is currently testing the latest hardware for us...
Driver version 8.4.2.6, straight edges are the problem, that not to say curved aren't as well but we don't tend to get into that. We don't get chance to edit the sketch it dies as soon as the flange preview appears on the screen.
