    I'm using Inventor 2008. SP2 was installed several months ago. I have no idea if the virus scanned was disabled. I'm going to assume that it was not since you need administrative rights (which I don't have) to disable it.

    Just a note here. The problem seems to have cleared up after I re-installed SP2 (Inventor). I have no idea what corrupted the printer drivers so that only Inventor would get this error. But re-installing the service pack seems to have fixed it.

    I just wanted to update this thread with a reply as to the usefulness of the 2008 Design Assistant. It does EXACTLY what I needed to do. I needed to swap old parts out of an assembly and have the new ones show up. It worked FLAWLESSLY.

    While waiting for an answer I found the problem. I found a face that was totally removed by a cut, then re-inserted (a very bad practice). Once I removed it and corrected the effected features, the flat pattern function worked perfectly. Thanks for the help anyway
