A reparation has to be done : temperature of material is 350°C.(also during reparation)
Material CS and A182 F22 . What filler material can be used for this ?
The preheat temperature is ok (see above) for the A182F22 material but what about PWHT. Is this necessary ?
According to material test certificate :
one austenitize (1742°F/8h) and tempering (1310°F/12h)
4 max PWHT cycles : 1274°F time 8h.
At this time the actual time is 20h. This is less than 32h.
We want to weld Alloy 926 (Cronifer) onto SS316L material. Have anyone experience with this ?
What precautions we have to taken ?
Is PWHT needed ? What type of filler material is needed ?
Thanks for the info.
During PQR qualification the testcoupon is PWHT after weld overlay and one PWHT cycle after welding tube-tubesheet.
At this moment we remove all welds and will reweld the tube-tubesheet joint. A new local PWHT will be done. But like metengr mentioned, I'm worried about...
What are the effects of several (5 times) heat treatments on a tubesheet material SA336 F22 Cl3 (with Inconel cladding )and tubes SA 213 T22 material.
Tubesheet is PWHT-ed in the furnace after welding the Inconel cladding. After this 4 local heat treatments are executed due to repairs.
After...
Weld overlayed tubesheet need to be PWHT according to ASME VIII div 2.
- Tubesheet : SA336 F22Cl3 thickness 408 mm weld overlay with Inconel 600 thickness 8 mm.
According to the code : P5A group needs 1250°F and for this case 7h 45 min.
Is this correct since AF551 "determing thickness is...
Due to the rerating girth flanges are overstressed. The shell can't be removed due to complicated piping routing.
What actions can be taken to keep the existing girth flanges (reinforcement, stiffening ribs, weld deposit,....)
Metalguy,
Thanks for reply
Shaft will be preheated at 250degree C(482 degree F) . After welding, the shaft will be "insulated" during some time, so cooling will be slowly.
