Eccentric Shear Splice
Say the main beam is w14x38 (50ksi) and is being spliced to a clip angle or tab plate support of 3/8" thick. Shear load is 20k. Eccentric Shear Splice
When splicing webs of girders, using double splice plates and slip-critical bolt design, what effect does offset of webs have on the design? How much offset of webs can be accomodated by fill plate? Say if web thicknesses are 3/8", can there be 1" offset to be filled with fill plates?- Cadet2000
