    Would say this does not apply to you:: 1. NFPA 30 Scope section 1.1.2 item 9 - it says it is NOT applicable to "liquids in fuel tanks of... stationary engines" ; and Start with IFC chapter 57 than NFPA 30 chapter 22 How are you connected to this? Any FPE that can help you

    Hum unprotected If you have to comply with IFC, it will be in there I am thinking nfpa 30 applies, Will have to look at both of those Should have asked is this a general question or planned install?,, plus in the USA? If planned do you know what fire code is adopted

    Without seeing a floor plan. A little hard to call A few reasons maybe 1. Door is part of a rated assembly 2. Door is part of enclosed rated stair 3. Stop the spread of fire from one floor to another 4. Other reasons Does the door swing in direction of travel to an exit?
