    Siemens TIA HMI upload solution?

Does anyone have a way to upload an HMI project with the new Siemens Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA)? Uploading the PLC project is bad enough with having to cut and paste on-line project to new project.

    Need a high-temperature CO2 and O2 analyzer

Try an automobile emissions gas analyzer. I'm using one to test O2 and CO2 levels (for flammability) in a chamber with temps up to 500C, works very well.

Any ideas for reducing flammability of an oil spray?

Thanks, HEC, but surface of product is ridged. What I'm trying is adding an O2 pre-burner flame upstream of the spray process. I can burn off the O2 level in air before it reached the spray enclosure. O2 levels would then be below flammability levels for this oil. As Saberblue pointed out...

Any ideas for reducing flammability of an oil spray?

Oil is to reduce dust in a later process. I don't have much control over its makeup, I'm trying to introduce a upgrade in the existing process. I thought about introducing water or something in the oil, or using an additional spray of water in the enclosure, but need to get with the process...

Any ideas for reducing flammability of an oil spray?

I wish I could, but it's a coating spray on a manufactured product passing by in flat sheets. I don't really have much control over the venting.

Any ideas for reducing flammability of an oil spray?

I'm developing an application that requires a finely atomized oil mist in a hot environment. Any ideas on a simple way to reduce the flammability other than flooding the chamber with CO2 or Nitrogen? Any clever ways to get O2 out of fire triangle in an oil mist? thanks.

    PLCopen automation programming: any opinons?

I've been fighting the vendor-specific motion control software battle for a while, have just come across the PLCopen association. Is anyone using this function block based programming? Does this association fit the same kinda role as OPC for industrial ethernet comms? http://www.plcopen.org/...

Old ValueMotion VI advice/resources? (old Labview v. 5.0)

Just started at a firm with old NI NuDrives using ValueMotion (Labview v.5.0) running simple X/Y axis. Anyone know where I can find old ValueMotion VI library software so I can get all these things at least running on the same page? thanks.

RSSQL: PLC rollover number work around?

I've been setting up Factory Talk Transaction Manager RSSQL configs for various clients. I am putting a quantity count into our software and using the DIFF function. The DIFF function requires a PLC rollover number. If it's your PLC and system, cool, but I'm working with folks that aren't...

Display output (RS232) viewable with OPC/SCADA?

I'm implementing an industrial Ethernet OPC/SCADA type network on my floor to view PLC production numbers/data remotely. I've also got a number of Red Lion count/displays that have a RS232 ASCII output counting finished product. Any help on how I get that onto my OPC display? I'm using a Moxa...

Non destructive testing on small plastic parts.

thanks for your input, Mike, I hadn't seen an easy way either. Changing the part design is out at least short/medium term. Production is already underway. The problem is from mgmt/corp. committee-think risk mitigation. These things are being cut at the manufacturer, but shipped and handled...

Non destructive testing on small plastic parts.

I'd really love to automate this : we'll be going through a lot of them. I'm already handling the items to cut them, I was hoping to find a vision process or something (xray? ??, sonic?? ) that can see a break or stretch in the plastic at the neck. The problem is identifying damage on such a...

Non destructive testing on small plastic parts.

Small is about 12mm x 3mm. There is an end cap on a small neck that snaps off, but for manufacturing ease 2 channels or legs have been added from the body to the cap to allow plastic flow. I need to cut those legs without damaging the center neck piece. As my cutting blades or device gets dull...

Non destructive testing on small plastic parts.

We need to cut sprues on a small plastic piece without damaging the piece. I need a method to confirm the piece (a medical device) isn't damaged. Does anyone have experience with or can anyone point me in the direction of resources/references that can help me find an efficent way to do this...

Using Oscope to compare points on vibratory part feed?

I've got a 85" long 6 lane vibratory part feeding track. Parts are sticking at random places. Any recommendations on moveable transducers or accelerometers I can use with an Oscope (looking at 4 channel scopes) to look at the vibration? I haven't purchased the Oscope yet, any better ideas of...
