Yup...I was right...about a 50/50 split on the part numbering question. My advice now...use what seems best for your environment...then if it has to change later try doing it before your data base gets too large.

Ok...I think I have run into this before.
First the bad news...I don't think you will be able to separate the parts out of this as SLDwrks converts all the parts into surfaces. When it says save as PART...it means it.

I know how to customize the properties for the density, but I need to know if it is my number that is off or if SolidWorks used a glass with a different property.

I am trying to determine the weight of a lens in an assembly and the Mass properties answer seems to be off by a factor of 1.75.
