anyone seen or used this brand of head??

I will double check with UL before putting my license on the line. You know fake Michael Jordan products come Nike check too. I seem to be confused as to only one overseas company hold a UL Logo. Specially a sprinkler head that does not meet a standard pattern. I dont know but I will stick to a...

anyone seen or used this brand of head??

Wow I was under the impression that not one sprinkler head from overseas had a UL/FM listing. I will have to look into this. Legaly?

    Separate sensing lines

The main problem of having share sensing lines from what I noticed throughout my career is that if the main connection to the system gets clog then both controllers will fail in case of a fire. You should take care of this sooner rather than later. I just do not understand how this continues to...

NFPA 25 2011 ed- Chapter 11 - 11.1.4.2 asks you to verify proper installation?

IMO that comment has being on the NFPA 25 for years. For example: If you are one of those individuals that claim to be doing inspections per NFPA 25 and did not apply chapter 4 General Requirements. 2002-Handbook page 45 section 4.1.2.2 This means that if you are doing an inspection and notice...

    Flow Test

First the main drain is not intended to obtain any water supply data. I just dont understand why or how the 2" main drain falls into this conversation. I hope I am missing something on the text.

    Flow Test

I would do it again. Both Hydrant and Main drain. Compare both and perform a new system analysis. Does not look good at the moment

In rack Design and Storage Height Limitation.

SprinklerDesigner2 I also have a Georgia License for Inspections. I am working on getting my contractors license there as well. I have to tell you that compare to other states Georgia is the best. They even have a portion of the Fire Marshall's website where they put you on blast if you do...

In rack Design and Storage Height Limitation.

I have no beef with any individuals here. I f anything I have refer many people to this forum. People like us that have spent many, many years in this industry looking to make a living and of course an honest buck. Unfortunately I have come across more thieves within the industry than I come...

In rack Design and Storage Height Limitation.

There goes again. As I have stated before here in many, many, many threads that I have experienced some serious encounters thru my 18 year of experience due to people that claims to be experts in fire protection but yet choke in a cup of water regularly. LCREP My assumption is that you do not...

How many of you provide a new copy of NFPA 25 per system?

Tony I agree. But if you provide then someone must signed off on it. It will be lost or stolen the following year.

Yes I have heard of chubb. Let me tell you about chubb. The guy that teaches inspection, testing and maintenance does not ever have a certification. So why would I even want to do that. I just going to get more opinions since this is based on old data. I will keep you guys posted.

In rack Design and Storage Height Limitation.

My only problem is that these hydraulic plates are over 15 years. Another engineer looked at is and said same thing. It works with 285 sprinkler heads if kept lower than 23' The only problem is that relying on data 15-20 years old could be problematic. Does the fore pump still performs at 150%...

In rack Design and Storage Height Limitation.

That is the whole whole point. At 25' with 155-165 degree heads it wont work at all. If he can bring that elevation down to 23' it could work with 286 degree heads. 155-165 degree heads will not work period. Can anyone please disagree. Take also in consideration that the existing hydraulic...

In rack Design and Storage Height Limitation.

OK so I punched the numbers myself and this is what I got. If they are 286 degree heads (which they are), they need 0.345gpm / 2500 sq. ft. for 20’ of storage. At 25’ it’s 0.345 x 1.75 = 0.60 / 2500. (Refer to hydro plate) This put their system design at the edge with no safety margin. Pretty...

Yeah. One Engineer did that and he claims to be adequate. I am just looking for second opinion.

Multiple row Aisle width? 8' Wet or dry pipe? wet Roof slope < 2:12 pitch? Flat or maybe 2:12 pitch 3/4 inch sprinklers. Are they K = 11.2 sprinklers? yes 11.2...

How many of you provide a new copy of NFPA 25 per system?

I know it is in the NFPA 13. It has being since I know of NFPA 13 but the question still remains. How many contractors follow that rule? I know I do not unless it is check as required within the contract. I make sure they know is required but if they choose not to then what. How many final...

How many of you provide a new copy of NFPA 25 per system?

cdafd That is exactly what I meant. leave it up to the owner or end user. I dont leave those standards on every job unless it is check as requested. It is not worth to leave on the spare box since it could be lost, stolen or damaged by humidity, etc.

How many of you provide a new copy of NFPA 25 per system?

You could become a NFPA online subscriber and print them out as you need however these subscriptions can be quite expensive. I just let the customer decide if they would like to obtain a copy at an extra charge. On a large job (100K and over) we will throw the book as complementary.
