    F-Theta Lens and HeNe Issues

I'm using Linos F-Theta lens, some with the PG coating, some without. The laser source is 1064nm (Fiber) and the lenses are appropriate for the wavelength. The issue is when using the guide laser, which - although it's not really - we refer to as the HeNe, as the mark moves closer to the...

    Custom Control

When I'm defining custom properties on a custom control - how do I define a custom property w/ only limited, defined options . For example, I have a custom control that displays an I/O channel state... one of the properties is "Channel Direction", which I have set as a boolean right now. When...

    Reading Data from Serial Port

It seems to be correct. Can you test it with a null modem and a laptop?

    IV11 Stability

I am not using Vault. I'm curious about Yippee and potential issues -- I was just putting together new documentation standards and Yippe Pro was a component.

    IV11 Stability

I'm also using Yippee Pro to manage my iProps.

    IV11 Stability

I'm using a NVIDIA Quadro FX 560 (..sadly my home machine is a FX1400, but - hey - money's tight here at work I suppose...) w/ the 91.63A driver. I can't find the card listing, but I'm pretty certain it is certified for use w/ IV11.

    IV11 Stability

I've recently installed IV11 (w/ service pack 2) on my machine and have had nothing but crashes - maybe ten or more per work day. Now, I did not have this issue w/ IV10. Is there a proper method to migrate from IV10 to IV11? I'm new to IV.

    Virtual Components

How do I change the quantity of a virtual component that I've created in an assembly? I'm using IV10.

    2D drawing

steveo30 - Thanks for pointing out the Design Assistant. I'm a new IV user and hadn't seen that in use yet.

    2D drawing

On the model tree (.idw), if you double-LMB slowly, you can rename the sheet to whatever you want. It doesn't change file names or anything else, just the name of that item in the model tree.

    DIMENSION TEXT

Autodesk will be releasing a hotfix on 070302. http://mfgcommunity.autodesk.com/blogs/blog/6/blogpost/15412/

    DIMENSION TEXT

We use IV10 at work and the text problem affected all four machines. At home, I use IV11, and haven't noticed it yet.

    DIMENSION TEXT

I am sure about it. We just received a email from our VAR. http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=543287

There is a Microsoft update, KB918118, that seems to be causing some trouble. You can delete it and disable automatic updates to solve the problem. I suspect this will cure your woes.

Whats new in IV 2008 (not R12!!)

I'm new to Inventor - coming from a pretty strong Solid Edge background with a good bit of Solidworks thrown in. Right now, we're using IV10, although we're getting ready to transition to IV11. When should I expect IV2008 to be released? IV11 doesn't seem to offer any really critical benefits...

    Laser cutter (materials)

I think that 1064nm YAG lasers are often used in the marking industry. Of course, a YAG marking laser set-up is around $50k, while a CO2 cutting laser is $250k. If you have a gantry type CO2 laser - you could have a YAG laser added to the gantry - maybe a $20k investment. It would mark much...

Are you looking to cut or etch? If you're planning on cutting - what is the material and thickness?

Using ASME Y14.41 and ASME Y14.5

I've been using a Y14.41 note only. Since Y14.41 references Y14.5 I think it would be implied, no? Most of my work has been models w/ drawings only for notes, etc.

Drilled hole. I'm not sure where I saw that or what the drill size range is for that...

    deveation question

Y14.41 allows for models at max, least, or mean condition. Kenat brings up a good point regarding drill sizes and their tolerances. I've always assumed +.005/-.000 for most.
