If this is a duplicate question: I apologize,
but in recent additions of SolidWorks (2020-2022) - the Floor Shadow/Floor Reflection automatically comes ON.
How do I make it so the Floor Shadow/Floor Reflections are OFF by default? It's certainly no trouble to turn them off manually, but it's...
When you load an assembly, each component will either be fully resolved or lightweight (1 - noted with a feather icon beside it) - To fully resolve an assembly, 2 - RMB at the main assembly, there will be an option to set lightweight parts to resolved.

2X is the standard, but the last time I did it, the fabricator interpreted it as '2 times.' ??!??

SolidWorks 2006. You're testing my memory here, but I believe, you can click on the drawing -to tell you what view it is- then go into the assembly tree with the corresponding drawing, and suppress the items you don't want shown.

Okay...I have been too hasty in thinking of changing my practices forever, but since it's not up to me whether we keep with the fabricator or not - I want to accommodate him as much as I can (he has many positive traits - i.e. he can re-work a screw up [not mine in this case] like the master.)...
Of course moving the files around in the Vault is best done with 'Copy Tree.'

A teeny word of caution - try not to put the 2X before the dimension - recently I did this with multiple spaces in between, and the fabricator thought the dimension was 2 times the intended dimension. 2 places, or 2 plcs after the dimension or GD&T symbol for me from now on.

This has to be 'operator error' - I'm sure of it, I just don't want to re-do the drawing.

So I have a detail view that won't stay displayed. Usually when this happens, I change the view state from 'Hidden Lines Visible' to 'Shaded With Edges' - or vice versa. I do this once and it never gives me trouble in that session again.

I don't do it, because I want to oftentimes vary what I do depending on multiple configurations or features of the part, but I believe what you're asking for can be done in the SolidWorks Drawing as Insert...Model Items.

What do you think was SolidWorks biggest improvement, from one version to the next - in the last 15 or so years?
My vote would be the Bill of Materials - and not having to use the old Excel imbedded format. - it always caused me problems.

If you're extruding a lofted profile from a rectangle (4 sides) to a polygon (20 sides) how do you control where the indentations show?

In previous versions of SolidWorks, I had learned to make a 'dome' with SolidWorks Surfacing - now there's this handy-dandy 'dome' feature. It's been around for several years, I think. What would the harm being using this 'dome' feature now? (It certainly is easier.)

It might even be easier than that.
