I hope this is the right forum... I have a question on Hydraulic over air clamping systems ....When shutting the presses off for the weekend and all electrical and air is dumped out of the pascal die clamps.... Should the upper die clamps pressure release as well? So the upper die is hanging about 20 mm off of the upper ram,,, I always thought there was a fail safe built in the clamps, if they lose pressure will engaged it would stay clamped ... I hope this makes sense , any info would be greatly appreciated

Have tried discussing with a manufacture or a machinery rebuilder , not my specialty and don't have a clue. But doesn't sound correct.
