Not really. What I require is not the catalog or data sheet offered by a brand, but rather a technical document called a specification. This document includes the minimum requirements and the technical agreements that, as a customer, I wish to incorporate into my equipment. Not all suppliers may necessarily be able to meet these requirements.

I don't think you will be able to find a complete specification on a skid like that. There are not many applications of a skid mounted electric heater skid with pump and suction tank/pressure vessel in the process industry as most client would not use electric heaters type heat exchangers but some heat transfer fluid such as steam or a self contained fuel gas boiler system, etc. I have spec for electric process heater, pressure vessels and pumps, but not a complete skid like that. When I am faced with that situation I first get the specifications and construction details of 3 typical manufacturers that make the same skid. I then write a specification around those three manufacturer's such that anyone can bid on it and provide the equipment you want. From the specs I do have on the different individual components of the skid but not the whole skid I would add specific requirements for the component equipment based on the individual go-by specs I have as long as I think it is not well above the capabilities of the manufacturers to supply. Also I would add controls requirements, instrument and electrical specification and structural specifications including wind and earthquake loads, etc., bid requirements, terms of conditions, etc. so that the vendor has all information to provide the skid in complete accordance with process, code and standard requirements, site and operating conditions etc.

I would call each one and ask them and discuss any special requirements that they don't state they provide and make sure they can provide it. Discuss delivery dates, field start up assistance, etc. And very important up front in the specification I would list process and performance requirements and any requirements for performance guarantees, etc.

Normally a decent engineering consultancy or design house will have all of these to hand.

@Snickster had given the basic outline of assembling an equipment performance died and purchasing doc.

Your best bet IMHO, is simply to prepare a "functional" specification and data sheet outlining what you want in terms of performance ( Heat output, flow rate, pressure, fluid, high / low temp, pressure drop in your loop) and what you have available in terms of power (V, phase, freq,) and then list what you need to be included in the package and any special items you want, such as ATEX motors etc. Controls you also need to decide how much do you need or is it simply an on / off command, temp set point and common alarm signal or do you want a full DCS modbus link in their little PLC?

Vendors will give you what they have. No one is going to make something specific to your needs and desires for a one off item.

Hence why its good to know what is on offer so that you can detail your RFQ accordingly or you risk getting no bids or only one very expensive return bid.

Then look closely through the return bids and negotiate if there is something you don't like.

You need an RFQ package. The package should include data sheets for the heater, the vessel, and the S&T. It should include a spec for piping and valves. It should include a spec for anything else you care about, such as the control system, paint, lifting eyes, etc. Personally, I'd produce 4 documents for this RFQ package: the 2 equipment DS's, and an RFQ letter that includes specs for piping, controls, paint, etc.
