Hello,
Please refer to the attached image of storm water drain section.
The image shows a section of storm water drain which has running length of around 1000ft. My question is since it is a water tight structure, how can I provide movement joints it? Providing a contraction joint at every 10ft length with waterstop doesn't sound practical to me (your opinion?). Can I omit movement joints here without any cracks? I need guidance in this regard. Thanks in advance.

Construction joint like precast uses

This is small box culvert with small sizes .
I would prefer precast box section module with 2-3 meter length . The joints could be bell and spigot with mastic sealant.
If cast in place , provide EJ s with PVC waterstop.

How watertight does it actually need to be? Stormwater systems typically aren’t 100% watertight.
