Shenderson17 - That would be great. I was at AU2007 and attended a couple of class on P&ID. They made it sould easy to replace thier blocks with your own. But it didn't sould easy to assign all the data to and existing P&ID by beaing able to select a pump block and click a button to tell P&ID...

Are there any valve on the line? Can you get the wall thickness with an ultrasonic test? It could be 6" tubing, or 159mm tubing.

How is CadWorx P&ID? Are there substantial benifits over simple AutoCAD drawing of P&ID's with no database involved?

Assumption: He does not have permission to have a copy of these drawings. Perhapse before bring this to management you should ask him if he feels the use of these drawings is ethical, or appropiate. Would it be any better if the drawings in question held the came content but bore no company logo?

Glad it helped. So do you do your piping model in 3D with your own blocks? or are you drawing it in 2D or isometric 3D or 2D?

further. I did a quick search on google for "autocad block count" and came across this web site http://www.jefferypsanders.com/autolisp_blocks.html I have not used this LISP, and do not know if it will do exactly what you want, but it sound close to what the "bcount" express tool does.

do you have the express tools? are you using LT?

If it's block your inserting into you drawing for components, and you know there in there only once for any given part, you could use autocad's "bcount" command to count the number of time a block appears.

As Tcarpenter1 says, there is a steeing in the options to set a default printer, but It has NEVER worked for me. I created a LISP reactor to verify the printer to be used is my correct one, and if not it will set it to be the correct printer. (AutoCAD really should be able to do this on it own...
