just loaded ideas on a new computer and the ideas daemon doesn't start automatically. Have configured it in the flexlm manager (although the license is grey and doesn't read from the flexlm manager). I basically have to run the secdaemon script before Ideas will start...like the old unix...
Have a look at this page...translators have always been a bit flaky for iges but the old v5 translator is still there under a command line...Neils site documents all this. I export iges to alias a lot and always use the command line translator as it provides much better surfaces.
Thanks for your help...I've ended up reinstalling with a new license and it now works agin...very odd though...it was fine for about 6 weeks then boom ...did all the usual stuff with the daemons etc. to no avail...it was as if the network id had changed?!

I'm running ideas 10 on XP and came to fire up last night and it's stopped working giving me an error when I do statdaemon about winsock connection refused. XP has done some security updates and I fun to WWW via a linksys wireless router....please can anyone help me
