PWHT is not necessary because Carbon Steel doesn't contact with an amine service. However you should consider using 316ss lining in chloride SCC environment.
You can’t avoid galvanic corrosion at carbon steel pipes connected SS pipes in the water service. Periodically, inspection should be needed to check thickness of carbon steel pipes nearby Stainless steel flange.
Others also might have corrosion over long time within a natural environment.
Flattening test gives a good evaluation of the weld area ductility and can occasionally alert you to the presence of bond line defects so seamless carbon steel pipe,A106,doesn't need to be tested.
Dear metenger,
This information "the titanium content shall be not less than four times the carbon content and not more than 0.7%"is written in the SA312-304
what i want to know is the reason for limiting max Titanium 0.7% content.
Thanks
lganga,
I should like to know the more recommended NDT for detecting defects in the TTS joint.
Eddy current can detect defects like cracks in the expanded area with grooves?
---> can detect defect on tube inside.(non ferrous material)
Is IRIS able to detect defects in that critical area of...
