    Motorcycle Helmet Model

does anyone have a model of a motor-cycle helmet, preferably an off road model. I have tried the 3D content central but nothing on there. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks Stu

    coming out of corners

Save yourself the bother and buy a KTM! Not sure if fitting smaller wheels is the way to go. You might encounter some wierd handling over the bumps. Also 18" off road tyres generally have a larger profile as people use them for enduro to lessen the chances of getting punctures. You might end up...

    coming out of corners

You will notice in both photos the riders are sitting forward weighting the front wheel.

    Living hinge design

Does anyone know if there is a feature in SW 2006 to create a living hinge in a plastic component?

    coming out of corners

Every single corner is different in mx. Even when riding on a track a corner will change every lap because of the number of bikes that have just blasted through it. The difference between Turnability and driveability are simply a compromise and is generally down to rider preference. You can...

    Disappearing Parts/Assemblies

It's back!! With the assembly open I opened the drawing and right clicked on one of the views, selected "open part ...." and it came back. I had tried that on previous occasssions but this time it worked.... eventually.

    Disappearing Parts/Assemblies

yep, just tried it no luck tho. This is a clean install onto a brand new pc. I installed SP 3.0 straight off instead of doing them incrementally. Although when I was running Sw2006 on my old PC with SP 2.0 I had the same problem and was using a different graphics card. Maybe it's me.

    Disappearing Parts/Assemblies

Changed the driver to the one suggested on the SW website but still no joy. Maybe I will have to re-build it. It's fairly big tho.

    Disappearing Parts/Assemblies

Using the following driver 8.163.1.0 which was released on 09/09/2005. I was using the driver that came with the card, however it was suggested that I update it to the latest version by our IT guys here, who do not use Solidworks.....

    Disappearing Parts/Assemblies

Has anyone experienced their parts or assemblies disappearing now and again from the screen? Since moving to SW 2006 I have encountered this more often where the part/assembly disappears and after you close it down and re-open it, it re-appears. Now I have an assembly that does not appear at...

    Two Stroke Power Valves.

Carb cleaner is my preferred choice for cleaning power valves. Spray it on and watch all the black carbon crap wash away. Don't breathe while you are doing it tho.

inserting holes on a cylinder wall

What about using a revolve cut? This would only work if the holes were in line with the planes tho. Draw a centre line on the plane and revolve around it?! MAy work for some of them.

    Two Stroke Power Valves.

I have a KTM enduro bike and it has by far the most complicated powervalve setup I have ever seen. It has a flap that restricts the exhaust port opening at various rpm's. It also has a cylindrical port's on either side of the exhaust (withing the barrel) that open and close as the flap goes up...

    Assembly mirror

You will need to select a plane to mirror it around tho, and you will then have to constrain it, otherwise it will just float about.
