Zinc anodes are used to protect alu., iron, copper,
& brass on boats in salt water. They come in MANY
shapes & sizes. Many with threads for mounting.
Everything needs to be grounded/bonded for proper
protection. Good Luck!
One thing that you don't need to be stupid to do
is to fill a plastic fuel can that has been sliding
around in a bed liner, without removing it from the
truck. Bed liners now come with a warning, but what
about when someone purchases a used truck?
I agree with pre-heating and full welding as posted
above, but it sounds as if these teeth may need to
be replaced periodicly?
One solution may be to roll mild steel to form a
collar of sufficient width (say 7"), weld it to
the pipe, then weld your 2.5" wide collars to it.
You may need...
Any crank, cam, or ellipse will not yeild a consistent
linear movement per. degree of rotation. A screw for
this application would need a pitch of 51.42857142875...
mm., an infinitive number.
The cross member, drive shaft, & rear gears need to be
changed. The shifter cable & kickdown cables need to
be slightly modified. The exaust hanger @ the cat will
not fit but can be fudged. You'll need to find a vacuum
sorce for the modulator. You may need to drill to mount
the cross member...
In order to magnetize screw drivers I simply coil
12 gage wire down the length, then momentarily
short the ends of the wire across a 12v automotive
battery. You need DC to do this & the wire WILL
get hot & melt if connected for too long. I mearly
scratch it on the battery terminals.
With gears or sprockets, simply count the teeth
of each gear, then devide. A 10 tooth gear driving
a 60 tooth gear wil have a ratio of 6:1. With pullys
the pitch diameter must be found & used. If your
assembly is not accessible, you can rotate the assy.
and count the # of turns of the input...
I think that the term you are looking for is helix,
ie. helical gear. The helical gear operates more
quietly than a straight cut gear, but produces
lateral forces or 'thrust'.
