    PRAO Software from EDF

Hello Everyone, I am looking for documentations on PRAO software from EDF. it is an old software that is not commercially available anymore I think. If any one has documentations and is willing to share that would be awesome. Thank you in advance and best regards, Samy

    Motor Starting Current

@Gr8blu: The "constant impedance" model is only valid for a "starting" state but when the motor is in "running" state the "constant KVA" model is applicable. I think it is important to notice the difference as this will lead to different behavior vis-à-vis the voltage

    RTU for Distribution Automation

Hello Everyone, Anyone has a complete and comprehensive list of all the RTUs available out there in the market for distribution automation purpose? Thank you in advance

    Motor Starting Current

Thank you everyone for your replies. I actually came to the same conclusion that this formula can only be used for RATED voltage

    Motor Starting Current

@ LionelHutz yes that is correct the denominator is (sqrt(3)x V)

    Motor Starting Current

Hello Everyone, I read in the literature for motors that I_start = (NEMA_CODE x HP)/ sqrt(3)x V However for a lower voltage at starting, the starting current decreases, but this formula insinuates the opposite. it is kind of confusing. Any guidance? Thank you in advance Samy

    Calibration in Reliability Analysis

Hello Everyone, In reliability analysis for distribution networks, when I am doing a calibration based on historical outages, why is it that only the overheard lines and cables failure data (failure rates and failure duration) get adjusted? why don't the other devices on the network...

Impedance of a step voltage regulator

Hello everyone, Is there a way to estimate/calculate the impedance of a step voltage regulator based on the tap it is on? Basically, let’s say the regulator is on tap 3, what is its impedance? Thank you in advance Samy

    Sectionalizer Vs Recloser

Hello Everyone, I hope my message finds you well. I am working on a presentation to show the advantage to use an all Recloser approach instead of Recloser-Sectionilizer approach for the improvement of reliability of a feeder. I believe that the approach of Recloser-Sectionilizer has been...

K factor in calculating the Load Loss Factor

Hello Everyone, I hope my message finds you well. I am trying to estimate the annual average losses in a feeder by using the Load loss factor as follow: Annual Average losses = Annual peak losses(kwh)× Load Loss Factor where: Load Loss Factor= [(K)×(Load Factor) +(1-k)× (Load Factor)^2 ]...
