I am trying to model a pipeline laying on a rigid surface to do some analysis. I have model my rigid surface as 3D analytical rigid. However, when run the analysis the pipeline goes through the rigid surface.
How can I make it no to go through and act as a solid ground.

I am using ABAQUS to model a pipe which is fixed at one end and free in the other end. The pipe should undergo rotation and I am not sure how to get the rotation about the axis which is thought the pipe.

Thanks for you comment but what I am looking for is controlling during the laying process not at the tie-in. Actually, there are ways to do this such as attaching a bouncy tanks to valves to stop it roll and stay in the right direction.

Well this is a phenomenon which happened as the pipeline tries to minimise the work done due to the reverse bending at the sag bend.This cases problems when installing valves and tees as it change the orientation
