Ignition coil grounds have resistor to ground?

That systems monitors secondary ignition current through the 240 ohm resistor to determine if misfire has occured.

Magnetic Permeability of Stainless Steel Fabrications - Suppliers

zinc09, see thread 1135-117830. We use High Ni 305 SS anealed after fabrication. Perm is less than 1.01. Ron

    Dielectric Compounds

One of the reasons this material is used is to modify the connector insertion force per the vehicle manufacturer's requirements. NYE is a major supplier of electrical compounds and has engineering guides on their Web site: http://www.nyelubricants.com/autoengineering.htm

Looking for a good electrical reverse engineering company

Generally what you are asking is to extract the machine code and disassemble it to assembly language or higher. To capture the code, you normally use development tools for the specific target processor. This consists of in-circuit emulators, logic analysers, assembler/ de-bugger, etc. If the...

Looking for a good electrical reverse engineering company

I do reverse engineering for automotive aftermarket, so if you can provide more detail I may be able to give you a recommendation.

Detecting Reverse rotation of the Wheel

You can obtain the two hall sensors and latching flip-flop packaged in one 2 wire chip. See Allegro Microsystems Direction sensing sensor chip ATS651LSH. www.allegromicro.com/en/Products/Part_Numbers/0651/index.asp

    diesel injector line speed pickup

Re:alternator output The frequency will be directly proportional to engine speed, unless of course, the alternator drive belt slips. Any inacuracies you see are likley calibration errors in the tachometer head. If you monitor the frequency accurately, you should have little or no error. Ron

    diesel injector line speed pickup

I believe some diesel tachometers use the alternator output to get RPM. You will need to correct for pulley ratio and pole number on alternator to determine exact speed from frequency.

Current Vs Voltage Piezzo diesel injector

Fabrico, thanks for the great reference. What it doe not explain fully is that the piezo stack expands when you apply the voltage to turn on the injector. When you turn off the injector the piezo stack contracts and generates voltage. To prevent extremly high voltages and to control the turn...

    Magnetic Permability of Stainless Steels

See my thread1135-117830 in this group. There are numerous refences to the magnetic characteristics of various grades of SS.

    silicone outgassing 101 required, please!

There is an 'electronic' grade available for one part silicone that does not corrode copper like the standard silicone calk does. The two part silicone generally is safe around electricals as it cures. Best to contact the manufacturer for application assistance.

    Coil on spark plug igntions.

op800: Sounds like you have a coil-over-plug arrangement - One coil per plug. If you can isolate the miss to one cylinder, you might try moving that cylinder's coil to another location to see if the problem follows the coil. The coil will fire at higher voltage as the spark gap increases. The...

Measure time use by ignition impulse

The easiest solution when no electrical power is available are the vibration activated elapsed time hourmeters. You can mount them to gas lawn mower, chain saws etc. and they will register engine operating time. No wiring or power is required to operate or trigger them. Here is one company...

How passive temperature sensors work ??

OzgurALAGOZ, everything you are saying is consistent with circuit1952's explanation. The sensor is a two terminal device with a resistance that is a function of temperature. It usually has one terminal connected to ground (return) and the other terminal connected to the ECU. In the ECU, this...
