Best Solution for PEX tubing radiant heating system

I can only comment on a couple of those. The distilled water will be a very aggressive water. Distilled is, in fact, acidic (about 5.5 pH). One question I have is whether this will be a heated solution from the boiler or a cooled down water supply to the boiler. That makes a big difference...

Strontium in wastwater - why are there limits?

Try looking it up in the FDA or EPA websites. They have a whole list of chemicals and usually an article or two on research done on that chemical. If it is regulated, it probably shows up in one or both of their lists.

    Polypropylene 8623

It was unclear what your goal is in changing the material spec. If it is to improve dimensional stability, perhaps glass filled or talc filled polypropylene would be enough of a change. Any chemical contact concerns?

    Private Wells

I don't know how far down you'll need to go, but there is a company called Erecta-Switch that has a variety of level sensors. A couple of other names are GEMS and Madison. These all have a variety of level sensing styles and may be a help. Regards.

    Water Saturation properties

I'm sure there are charts somewhere to give you this data. The only way I know to do it is the long way - calculate it. The Cp value at that point is dependent on the enthalpy and temperature (by definition). Not knowing your background at all, this could be a long, detailed process to come...

residential a/c efficiency help for dummies

One other thing you need to know: The refrigerant tubes on the condenser are probably copper. RO water pits copper over time and a refrigerant leak in your condenser would definitely defeat your purpose. A one time spray, as Clyde mentioned shouldn't hurt it, but I would avoid continuous use...

    need some friendly suggestions

It seems to me that your best source would be the engineers who you're making this for. They know what redundant routines they use. In fact, they may have some good ideas as to how to present the results that would be more meaningful to them.

    Kinetico versus Rain Soft

The Kinetico system is a relatively good system. I don't really know much about the Rain Soft system. However, a big factor in cost I looked at for my house (water isn't really that bad, just very hard) is the operational costs. $6k vs. $3k (assumed) takes a long time to make up in...

Whats in A Water Distribution Report

Any time you are dealing with changes to an existing system - especially with water - there are a number of factors to consider. I know I am bound to overlook one or more in this reply, so hopefully there will be others who can and will answer as well. In bullet style format, you will need to...

    High Impact Polystyrene taste

Does anyone know of a material similar to or a variation of high impact polystyrene that would pass a taste test and be FDA or NSF approvable? The main concern is dimensional stability in the injection molding process. The part is a flat disc with a slightly recessed center disc.

    Material Creep vs. Compression Set

One thing I recently learned about rubbers is that the modulus in a case like this is probably more important than the durometer. The two usually follow each other, but that is not always the case. O-rings (I'm assuming used here) usually follow durometer ratings, but a rubber manufacturer can...

    Non Wear rubber

You need to ask yourself why they didn't fail in the test. Was air pressure changed (more inflation in application), or did the test piece(s) have less of a sharp edge, and if so, why? Unless you get to the root cause of the puncture, you may only be masking the real problem. As for your...

The removal of SS by low rate trickling filters

Typically a filter has a micron rating. This micron rating is an indicator of the pore (hole) size in the filter. Based on the micron rating a percentage is assigned. However, the percentage is really based on the incoming water turbidity (dirt, sand, etc.). I am not familiar with what you...

    Blushing on Urethane

We had a similar issue here once and found out that we were using a mold release on the back side of the part that was affecting the front (carried over from fingers or fixtures most likely). Also, check the manufacturing process. People sometimes find what they think is an easier way to do...

    Plating on plastic material

We use a dip of some kind - I'm not sure of all the details. It is either an electroplating type set up or a dip that is baked on or a combination. If you don't have a place to use, we use Feriot Inc. in North Canton, OH (ph. (330) 497-7888).
