MintJulep is correct, You must always charge your equipment with liquid R-404a as opposed to gas charging. Otherwise you will risk fractionating the refrigerant and losing the refrigerants properties. Liquid charging is instructed on all documents I have seen regarding R-404a.

Understand "SWAGELOK" has several types of fittings.
VCR is only one of those few. Go to their site and find out all there is to know about proper tube fittings for various conditions.
