Opinions on 1/2 Ton pick up truck Load Control Helper Springs

Of interest might be: http://www.activesuspension.com/ I personally have no experience and do/do not endorse but the truck guys on the forums love'em. Jim

    Direction of flow through valves

A heart valve is one-direction, but that's not probably not what you are looking for [smile]. JK

Known drag, how much horsepower and cd?

This is a cut-and-paste from a long closed website, I believe the article to be accurate but do your due diligence! When a car moves along a flat road the engine has to work to overcome two main resistances - air resistance and rolling resistance (the drag in tyres, wheel bearings etc). The top...

feasibility of designing MR shock system for aftermarket

Arctic Cat did this on their snowmobiles 10ish years ago: Utter failure, suppose to update the dampening at 1000 Hz, wires going to some "brain". 2 year market run. or maybe this - mostly on Polaris snowmobiles: A Fox position sensative shock - hard - soft in the middle - hard, these...

    bore diameter in a 1/4-36 UNS-2A thread

CorBlimeyLimey: thank you, that link was helpful. The medical industry pretty much stops at 1/4-32, thus my ignorance. Jim

Never seen a 1/4-36 - but maybe that's just me.

    Dual Rate coil springs

Once you compress the bump stop you pretty much have uncontrolled rebound. This makes no sense. The shock still has rebound resistance - unless it is blown out Unless I don't understand your comment. Jim

How to persuade engineers to abandon silly tolerances?

Where tolerances come from:(from a text long, long, time ago) “…It looked as if some of the tolerances were assigned much closer than should be necessary, and I started to try to find out how they had been fixed. To accomplish this, on every occasion when I met an engineer I asked him how he...

Who accepts final responsability for a drawing; the Certified Drafter or the Engineer that checks it

Who's responsible? The company with the logo on the lower left of the print. We have drawings with 6 signatures on 'em - and not one of those six people are with the company anymore. JK

    Shock valving vs travel

Yes, the shock shaft or piston has no idea that its in a 5" tube or a 10" tube - unless (of course) it is in a position sensative shock - like the FOX Position Sensative series. JK

    What's wrong?

In a safe place, have someone drive your car that you can trust, and follow behind in another car. As mentioned I bet you will see the rear wheels will not follow the front. Good Luck. JK
