Re: re-seating valve - Not necessarily, I am only interested in what the options would be for an application like this. Could be a rupture disk or similar if that's all that would work.
Thought this might be the best forum to ask for leads... I am looking for Pressure Relief or Safety Valve options for a vessel operating at 450 PSI and 750C, with pressurized syngas. The pressure does not seem to be a problem but the temperature is. Any thoughts on where I could start a search...
It shouldn't make any difference for your future career, the P.E. license that you get will be exactly the same. You won't be limited in the type(s) of engineering you practice by the test you took, only by your competencies. Good luck!
If you're looking for a way to get out and meet people, check out meetup.com. Depending on where you live there could be many groups and a good chance to find other people who share your interests.
I've only worked for small consulting firms (10-15 employee and 40-50 employees currently) and I can say that I have been very happy. If you are only considering vertical "advancement" then yes it is limited, but your seniority and responsibility will grow as your career does. I find I've been...
I'm not sure how to import the milestones, but I may try that later and will let you know if I have any success. For your second question though, I'm pretty sure the invites will need to be 4 separate emails. I hope that someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.
I've been through my Machinery's and Marks', but can't find a beam bending diagram for a beam that is loaded at 2 points, one on the cantilever end and one between two other supports, sort of like this:

Have you tried Google's spreadsheet software (http://docs.google.com) for your home computer? No software to install, and your work is available on any computer (makes it easy to share work between the office and home). Of course, I've only started using it and I've only used it for VERY basic...
Thanks Tiger, I appreciate the post. I use a bound journal as well, which I typically use to take notes in meetings, jot down reminders to myself when I'm in the field, etc. I'll usually transfer these to my task list in Outlook at my first opportunity. I assume you prioritize by using the...
Thanks corus, I like the idea of the daily diary for archiving work done. Even 250 work days' worth of entries wouldn't take that long to scan and pick out major items at year-end review time...
I haven't made the change you're thinking about, but I have a couple of thoughts...
Unless you intend to use your EE degree to help market the company, you probably don't need it. I'm guessing that getting a full degree is going to be more expensive and time consuming than taking classes on...
RE: Post-Its... I certanily don't want to hurt anyone's feelings! :-) I use these all of the time when making notes on a document to give to someone, or to leave a note on someone's desk when I've stopped by and they aren't there (although I usually follow up with an email). I like the new...
Thanks to everyone so far who has taken time to give me your take on organizing work/task lists. I'm not completely unhappy with my current system, but in an effort to "improve myself" I'm always looking for a better system.
Post-its: I don't care for these at all when it comes to leaving...
