Hello everyone,
I am doing FEM in NX 9.
Advanced simulation,
I want to apply load(pressure) to the inside surface of the hollow tank, but the tank is fully closed(tank model is attacched). Kindly requesting you to please help me to select the inside surface of the tank...
Look at the result. I have attached the Image file.. It looks like the bottom surface is goig inside which is not correct.
The liquid is inside and the load is from inside. but the result is reversed.
I hve applied pressure load on the bottom of the tank only...
The tank is fully filled so, the liquid is contact with everywhere side.
The Tank have non uniformed shaped, i mean its not like rectangular or square shape. you can have a look, i have already attached in my first messege. I have attached the image and the model as well.
yes, I am also interested in the pressure which is acting on the sides of the tank.
Ofcourse there is pressure acting on all sides of the tank.
should i need make new simulation for this pressure acting on the side..??
thank you,

Yes I specified the vector direction on the bottom of the tank (-z direction) and I also specified point on the surface of the tank.
But what I assume in my last messege is correct. I will repeat again
surface presse 1 atm(standard condition, no pressurised condition), Benzene density= 876.5...
Thank you Cowaski,
The tank is not pressurized, its just filled with fluid(benzene)
So, I should insert surface pressure(air or gas) 1 atm(101325 Pa), Benzene density= 876.5 kg/m^3, Gravitational constant=9.81 m/s^2 ? the height of the tank should be ignored..??
and what about the direction...
sorry i forget to add The snapshot of Hydrostatic presssure dailog box with tank http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=2d8ed920-129e-4d30-aa6d-7555355de140&file=Hydrostatic_pressure__dailogbox.JPG
Hello everyone,
I have a bus fuel tank filled with benzene, because of the weight of the fluid there will be pressure acting on the bottom of the surface. So, i am trying to do simulation and the load type selection is Hydrostatic pressure beacuse its a hollow tank filled with liquid. But i...
