dmctiernan,
We have also battled this problem. Our final solution, which has been working very well, uses edge flanges. We produce transitions in four parts with the welds in the conrners of the squares. The general process is listed below:
Sketch circle on a plane offset from the square...
Regg,
I am sorry I can't explain the dimension thing very well. All I am doing is flattening the part and then putting a dimension from one end to the other. Then I copy that dimension into the custom properties.
More importantly, your sketch idea sounds like it might be just what I need. I...
Regg,
We have made a config for the flat layout and then just used the flatten button in that congfig. We then tried to get that dimension name, copy it to the folded config. This does not work, the dimension changes when we go back to the folded config.
We have also put a flat layout view...
jksolid,
Thanks for the cut/past help. I did not think of the obvious.
I do not understand you idea for linking a separate property for the flat dimension. Please explain.
Thanks

(sorry no clever quote)
Does anyone have a good way of linking the flat layout length dimension into a BOM.
I am using configuration specific custom properties to link to my BOM. The problem is that in the assembly the bent up config is used. Thus, the custom properties for the bent up config are loaded into the...
The display annotations in the FM is on. I just got some other advice to insert model items-cosmetic threads. I tried this and it worked. No reason given as to why they disapeared in the first place.
I think I am all set for now. Thanks Scott.
I have a drawing that is loosing the cosmetic threads on some holes. I used the hole wizard to make the holes. Later I added another point in the sketch (to add another hole). Originally the cosmetic threads showed on the drawings. Now I go back into the drawing and one of the three holes...
Using the part number does not work for us, but thanks for the suggestion.
The views on the other sheets are sub-assemblies, not the same overall assebmly, so even though "linked to BOM" is enabled, the balloons do not follow the overall assembly. I was hoping there was some way to capture the...
I also want to be able to capture the item number from a BOM and use it in a note. We put the assembly and BOM on the first sheet of a mutiple sheet drawing. On the other sheets we show the individual part details, and sub-assemblies. We would like to use the balloons on these subassemblies...
