I realize it's been some time since this post but here is the only way I found to work around this.
Move the part so the origin is at the center of gravity. Then place a feature of a sphere of very small dimension (sphere won't change COG) at the origin. You will be able to dimension to the...
This is a hollow cylinder, the end is partially cut at an angle and then the resulting face at any point needs to be perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder. (like an axial cam would be)
This model was done by cutting an extruded tube (that is only .0001" thick) at angle and then thickening...
Sory, tpo in forst post
Also, is there a way of reordering the views on the first sheet so that the title block will extract the info from the new first VIEW. Tried drag-n-drop but didn't work
I understand what you are saying BOPman but I don't believe it will work to center a rectangle on the origin. Colinear and coincident won't work with the midpoint of a sketched line unless I am missing something.
The only Vault resource that I know if a 121 page pdf file that can be accessed (in 2008) by launching productstream and when the Welcome window comes up, click Learn More. Then on the right side click on 'Managing you Data'.
I have my title block set-up to extract model information for the part number and name, etc. If my first view on the first sheet is a weldment and I wish to detail some of the parts on the second sheet, how can I have the title block info on the second sheet match that of the first without...
Great tip on dragging a view to another sheet. However, I was not able to copy and paste the title block as suggested. I could right click and copy (presumably to clipboard) but when I entered second drawing, there was no paste option and CTRL V didn't work either. What am I doing wrong? Inv 11...
Does any body know why the following happens and if there is a way around it or a setting that can be changed?
When sketching on a work plane, even if the Y-axis is up, using horizontal or vertical constraints end up reversed. I commonly constrain my sketch to the projected origin using...
Thanx BOPman-I am familiar with View resp and LOD. But when I suppress components with LOD, I would like the bounding box to appear in its place.
In AU (autodesk University) 2006 write-up on "The Ins and Outs of Representations in Autodesk Inventor) on page 9 there is a reference and example of...
Deriving a part from an assembly makes reference to creating a bounding box. I am able to do this but since it is a separate part, it has to be inserted into an assembly at some point. It cannot be inserted into the assembly it is derived from. I was hoping that at a higher level assembly I...
