Goto Configuration manager, double-click the configuration you require (default,Cast Part) In feature manager you can see that changes you had made in that configuration come alive.
Example: If you want to change extrution depth. Do not go to edit definition and change. Instead you double-click...
I use configurations for splitting parts. I first create the full part. Add a plane for cutting. I create a new configuration (Say 1st Part). I draw a new sketch on new plane by drawing a big rectangle. Cut through all in one direction. I open default configuration. and draw a new sketch...
You create the views in the drawings as usual.
You open both the drawing and model in sw.
Insert a Named View and when you are asked to pick a view from model file. Pick the model window, and pick 'Flat-Pattern' from orientation dialog. Sw automatically creates a configuration for unfolded view...
Natural frequency is just not determined by the model. It is also dependent on the Material Used, elastic constant of material (material properties). The types of joints (eg ball joint, etc). Points of fixing (boundary conditions or constraints). FEA will be best solution. There are lot of FEA...
1) WINFILE still exists in winnt. You have to run it from Start->Run->Winfile
2)
I suggest you to write a batch file eg. LaserPrint.bat and place it on your desktop.

c:\winnt\system32\print.exe %1 /d:\\Comptrnam\Printsharename
or copy...

Move your cursor around the view, the solidworks dynamically shows edges, right-click and tell 'Show Edges'. You can also change the linetype style. But this is labrourious method.
Do not know any solution?
We are facing similar problem in WINNT. Some users are able to open and some are not. i.e. Different logins were creating this problem. By trial and error we found a adhoc solution. Delete the user profile in which the error occured. We made this by right-clicking...
Yes the debate continues.... Inventor is using image of his elderly brother AutoCAD and trying to catch on with SolidWorks. Well I think choose one of them. Stick on with them. Get maximum benefit and value.
E-drawings may be usefull for sending by e-mail or sending only the picture of the part because it is better than sending .tiff file. The file size of e-drawing is very less and e-drawing viewers is available free from solidworks. The animation part of e-drawings helps in better visualization...
Well, it is true that even in microsoft networks we face the same problem. The ratio is 8:1 decrease in speed. May be you can try this. In options you set the referenced file to be opened for read-only. Speed will slightly improve to 4:1. As suggested by SBaugh it is better to make a local copy...
