Hi Modey,
I suspect that there are no books dedicated to micromechanical modeling of polymers :(
But there are numerous papers that illustrate how micromechanical FE modeling can be used to better understand material behavior. I have a number of references on my website: polymerFEM.com.

Hi Claudio,
You can find experimental data and various model predictions for NBR on the following link.
Best of luck,

The Ogden model can be fitted rather well to the equilibrium response of PS structural foam. You need to experimentally test the foam using uniaxial compression and confined compression, perhaps even simple shear. Then you need to find the required material parameters from the experimental data...
The von Mises condition can be used also for large strains, but the predictions are not always accurate. The challenge is to predict the behavior in different loading modes, and the von Mises model does not always work well in this regard.

To a first order approximation you can simply take the storage modulus at a low frequency as the Young's modulus.

ABAQUS will solve problems that have an unsymmetric Jacobian, you just need to specify the unsym parameter.
If you are writing a UMAT subroutine, then you simply need to calculate the true unsymmetric Jacobian and return that matrix back to ABAQUS.

The problem is that the fortran compiler (df.exe) could not be found. What you need to do is to add the path to the fortran compiler directory into your default system path definition.
