I'm interesting in getting into computational Materials Science. I know a lot of FEA books assume a homogeneous material. I am familiar with FEA basics. Does anybody know of a book that focuses on microstructural mechanical modeling using FEA? I imagine a good start would be to use mesh elements of different materials. The Material Science books I read don't even cover this important topic in materials development.

Hi Modey,

I suspect that there are no books dedicated to micromechanical modeling of polymers :(

But there are numerous papers that illustrate how micromechanical FE modeling can be used to better understand material behavior. I have a number of references on my website: polymerFEM.com.

Best of luck,
Jorgen
