So, we have a vendor who is proposing to perform the seismic testing on one production valve and then ship that to us along with 3 other identical valves.
The other 3 valves would be deemed as seismically qualified by default, as they are identical to the tested valve. I know that in the Code...
Hello folks,
How does Teflon perform as a packing material versus graphite, kalrez, etc. for Pressure or Temperature Control Valves? Anyone has extensive positive experience with Teflon and what what grade, etc. was it?
What is the best packing material? Any information would be appreciated...
On what media do air sets or pressure regulating valves fail more i.e. compressible or non-compressible media?
Would a self venting air set fail at a lower rate than a non venting air set?
Clause 122.5.1 of B31.1 states that "Where pressure-reducing valves are used, one or more relief devices or safety valves shall be provided on the low pressure side of the system. Otherwise, the piping and equipment on the low pressure side of the system shall be designed to withstand the...

If someone can provide a basis for this statement would be great.
"If you're talking small pipe (NPS <=2) and cold temperatures (<= 200°F) where the consequence of failure is negligible, then go for U-bolts and assume whatever you want."
This question is related to piping...
In WB, I created geometry in mm. Selected mm on the project schematic for the Model and then when double clicked Model, the Mechanical window opened up but showing the model in meter. Any way to change this to mm? Geometry still shows in mm. Thanks
Folks,
Is it possible to get a hold of a couple of Copes Vulcan Globe Valve bodies? We need it for some testing purposes. Body size is 4" and 10" for their CV-600 valves. Need one of each. If it is part of an existing or used valve assembly, is fine.
Thanks
A valve vendor is claiming that there is little correlation between the valve body inside contours and the Cv. The valve in question is a globe valve. My instinct says this is incorrect, however would appreciate any expert or experienced insight.
If I use more than one gasket at a bolted joint, will it impact the torque to be applied? i.e. will the torque be greater with 2 gaskets as opposed to that with a single gasket? I would appreciate any input.
