Nevermind I managed to solve this in the end, for anybody else looking, solution is:
{=IF(ISERROR(INDEX('Gantt Chart'!$A$5:$AB$31,(SMALL(IF(INDIRECT("'Gantt Chart'!R5C"&$G$2+3,0):INDIRECT("'Gantt Chart'!R31C"&$G$2+3,0)>0,ROW('Gantt Chart'!$A$5:$A$31)),ROW(1:1)))-4,1)),"",INDEX('Gantt...
Hi all,
I am stuck trying to implement a function into excel. The part I am stuck on is using a lookup based on a cells content. I assume I want some use of the indirect function but cant quite make it to work.
The main issue I have is if the cell content of f2 is 1, I want to lookup D5:D31...
Thanks for the responses, I know multiple sheets are generally frowned upon, its just occasionally its difficult to do otherwise. Seems i made a mistake renaming the tabs too early to make onlyadrafters solution to work.
Think the answer is to rework things in such a way I can get it all on 1 sheet
Hi all, I have a tracking spreadsheet set up to track various procurement activities with each package as a separate worksheet.
I then have an index page with hyperlinks to the individual worksheets for summary purposes.
What I want alongside these links is to pull up various data from the...
We are doing stress because the client requests it. I think their head office has said they can only use the drill pipe if they get full stress analysis on the line first
Yes, we are not completely happy about it, but are trying to be flexible and helpful to the client etc.
The stress guys are complaining that as it would be a custom joint in Caesar they don't have any details regarding the performance of the joint which invalidates the whole model. Will try to...
Hi all,
We have been asked by a client to use existing API 5CT tubing (5", L80 GRE lined, threaded ends) as pipeline material for a water injection network.
I can't see anything in ASME B31.4 stopping us from using this material, but we are a bit stuck on how to handle branches off the main...
Hmm, seems I do need to get familiar with pivot tables, as it does do what I requested after all.
As it happens the extra functionality I get from the array approach is of value to me, but i have been dismissing using pivot tables in my spreadsheets without really understanding them.
Thanks...
IDS,
Maybe I am not understanding your suggestion correctly. To me sorting or pivot tables adjust how the data is displayed within table A. I don't want to alter the arrangement of this table, I want to selectively draw information from this table and display it in another on a different...
For those following this thread in future, I did sort of find a result. I have had to pre add in rows for the second table, but using arrays as indicated here ended up helping

Note that is your table...
Ok, looks like I have to use Macros then.
Table A is a bid bat with each row being an engineering deliverable which includes deliverable name (as per mock example) and hours for that deliverable (which I was hoping to understand how to deal with based upon this response.
Table B is actually...
Hi all,
I am trying to group a bunch of text from column B of a table based upon an numerical value in column A of the table. I want the various qualifying text then all grouped (CONCATENATE I assume) in a second table
I have attached a mock example of what I am after with random text in to...
Hey all, hope you can help me.
I am trying to get a framework contract tracking software sorted and have call in excel to try to obtain data from across various worksheets (circa 60)
The formula I am using for a single worksheet is:
{=INDEX('Sheet 2'!A8:I9,MATCH(A7&C7,'Sheet 2'!D8:D9&'Sheet...
Thanks for the reply, however this happens on my computer with CutePDF and my colleagues with both CutePDF and Adobe Acrobat 5.
Goto last cell also has not shown anything, each worksheet is printing off as one page, the problem I am having is the workbook isn't printing off as a single entity
