anyone has any suggestion on how to automatically record run-time on a centerless grinder, is there a device that I can attach to the motor that would record start / stop times?.
Mechmama -Thanks for your input. and you brought up a good point about coding...when I looked into it and talked to some friends that had finished the program they mentioned that it wasnt very much coding at all and that it was fairly easy.( ofcourse this is relative based on experience)

No i'm not wanting to stay in Engineering, but My thought process was that once I graduate and i'm competing for jobs with other graduates, I figured I can get an edge by showing my work experience. I was considering MHA because I know Lot of healthcare...

thanks Bill,
I'm familiar with the workings for kanban,
but as you can see there a downward trend is the total numbers. My concern how you setup quantities so that when you have a spike in demand it does not creat stockout, at the same time not inflate you component inventory?.
Here's a demand curve for a particular family of products, what is the most efficient way to calculate kanban quantities for its components? any suggestions (for in-house manufactured parts only)
for the past few days I have tried looking for positions like this under healthcare jobs, but I haven't had much success.
Maybe I should look to work with consulting companies that do similar work?, I'm also looking at some lean healthcare forums? any other suggestions anyone?.
jpankask - you are right it would take a long time to build a customer base, frankly I'm looking for a career improvement as well, so I was wondering if there were other industries/companies that encouraged lean like healthcare that maybe needed people with process improvement experience?
Tygerdawg - you are right too often lean is implemented without focusing on the people giving it a bad name, but I feel that the values and skill sets I have to offer are slightly different - I think I'm a good salesman (the good kind).
It seems that other than manufacturing only healthcare...
I'm a mfg engineer that has had 4 years experience in process improvement, mapping and 5S etc in a sheet metal facility. I would really like toapply these tools to improve services.
Anyone here doing anything like that?. Any ideas how I can get into similar fields?.
classcar-thanks for your post. yes all modification have been removed, but I was more concerned about some unsafe equipment.
You are right, now that I think about I should have had the company attorney draft the letter. I was hoping there would be like a auto bill of sale form. I didn't want to...
Hi,
Just wondering if there was some typical form that are used while selling unused equipment from the plant. Some equipment are definitely unsafe to use, which was clearly conveyed to the surplus buyer, but I want to make sure that we are covered on our end.
I know they are offering a general information class on 2D laser cutting during fabtech, it by no means an training for an operator - its more for general overiew. not sure if thats what you looking for.
thank for your input - do you have any recommendation of what year of manufacture ( if we were to go used). Also do you have any type of documentation that shows the cost of ownership?.
