    I have recently recieved a blue print calling for 17-4ph cres tubing per AMS 5643. The spec does cover tubing but I have been unable to find a vendor that carries it. Does anyone know of a vendor for this material?

    ASME Y14.5M-1994

    Metman, Sorry to muddy the water, but there is a difference between the ANSI and ISO specification, although not a great deal. ANSI uses the "envelope principle" and ISO uses the "Independency Principle". This is explained somewhat in the intro to Y14.5M-1994.

    You might try the FAA's web sight at www.faa.gov. You are going to want to look for the Flight Standards section. They are the department that handles repair stations and certification.

    Custom Electric Motor

    I need a 1/4hp, 3 phase motor with a gear cut on the end of the shaft. It needs to be a C frame, preferably 48C or smaller as the device it will attach to is only 4 inches in diameter. I am not having any luck finding anything even close. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRIECIATED.

    Philrock, I think you are right about the gear designer. I didn't think this was going to get this complicated. The reason for the non standard box is it needs to be hollow through the center. I havn't been able to find one yet. Thanks for all the help, it's back to drawing board for me.

    Thanks for the input! I havn't been able to find a standard box for my application. The material I plan to use on the planetary, input and sun gears will be 8620 h/t'd to approx 50 RC. I will be using 4140 for the ring and output, also h/t'd to 50 RC. All at 20 degree pressure angle.
