I thought everyone already knew that the issue with "ATi" cards i.e. AMD, is that the drivers are of poor "quality" due to the software developer funding and support.
I've had a quadro 5600 for some time now and all these FireGL benchmark performance figures are pointless if the software one is...
the pic is of the part that had been unfolded. The flatten feature is not designed for this purpose, but I've tried it just in case and it didn't work.
SOLVED! There were actually two issues:
1: the were a few circles in the sketch that were not in constant with the metal part.
2: once the...
..."the part contains features that cannot be unbent"...
is the error that I get. I've tried the above methods and don't understand why Solidworks isn't in the mood today.
Perhaps this pic would be a give-away.
Formulas are great if you get them right though.
In addition I've tried:

Greetings fellow engineers :)
I have noticed that when a sheet metal part has flanges on it the sheet metal doesn't fold back with the pattern (extrude cut) applied over the entire sheet. For example, should one take a honeycomb mesh and try to form it to fit a car grille..it wont.
Any ideas...
SORTED!
The answer to my question is NO. Basically it is not technically considered a sheet metal even though it will be made from a sheet of metal. (for example one could make a cube out of a sheet of metal..is it still sheet metal?)
So the easiest way to proceed is to simply extrude along a...
I'm currently working on a very simple looking part, furthermore, it is made in a relatively simple way i.e. using a sheet of 15mm aluminium that is then locked in place while a special tool cuts along the top (through the top layer NOT from the top) of the entire sheet with a certain pattern...
Greetings fellow engineers :)
It has come to my attention that I cannot export or save a dxf file i.e. I need to convert my part/sketch to a dxf file format and the option simply isn't there.
Tried to search everywhere but no luck :( hopefully somebody here can enlighten me on this matter...
One of my colleagues had just suggested an easier solution which in some cases can be tricky but should be simple in this case i.e.
use UV mapping to separate the holes and then apply a displacement map to the selected polys. This (as he put it, "if done correctly") will result in very...
Thanks everyone, so basically there is no such feature yet i.e. to have the same threaded "tick box" as the screws get due to heavy computation?
I'm rather new to solidworks (originally from the visualisation industry) so will probably be coming here often. However, I have years of experience...
WOW..top crowd!! :)
OK, so this may sound unusual but I need the holes actually threaded (physically in 3D) as well as the screw (that's not a problem).
I'm not seeing any textures in the "threads" but judging by what you're saying it wouldn't make much difference.
I've just been given my...
Hello everyone!!..another frustrated credit cruncher has joined the forum :)
After 4 hours of pain, I'm hoping someone here will enlighten me on the following matter:
Why is the cosmetic thread not threaded!??!
I need to have threaded holes in my model (look like they do in the real world)...
