It seems like I ran into a factory wired submersible pump panel yrs and yrs ago that was fitted w/ a reversing starter (more than likely jogging) that could be used in an attempt to clear a clogged pump instead of having to pull it.
Have a friend who is a maint. manager at a large municipal waste water treatment facility. He is looking to acquire a data logger and asked me if I had any experience w/ a Fluke 1736. I haven't had to use a data logger in years and years.
From what I gather the primary use would be for...
It's definitely a 3 lead motor- that's why I was confused too. I'm going back next week to finish the vibration hook up, If I get a chance I'm going take another look- maybe a tap xfmr hidden around the corner that I didnt see?
That's what I was thinking- Although what I can't reconcile is why go to the trouble of rewiring the cubicle and paralleling the controllers. I know that all the cubicles were upgraded (there's 3 200 hp and 3 100 hp cubicles and the 200 hp's got soft starts vs. the old w-d configuration). The...
I normally work the instrumentation/DCS side of things motor related so I dont deal with motors/ motor starting that often.
I was at a WWTP the other day tying some vibration probes into the DCS and was working near the MCC where a plant operator was changing a motor controller on a 100 HP...
I work in the oil refining industry where EPA regs are mandating on certain equipment such as flares, TRS analyzers with ranges as high as 500,000 ppm TRS.
Our cal cylinders are generally 35% H2S at 2000 psi. The other day a cylinder regulator failed open exposing the low pressure side (and...
We have a customer who's waste water treatment plant flow metering has become very prone to damage from lightning strikes.
Historically the field installed flow meters were connected to strip chart recorders in the control room w/ very rare storm damage.
In the last year or so they have...
Thank for the responses.
I did not realize that these contactors were that old, or early obsolescence due to failures like this? Absolutely nothing on the web (provided that the part number he gave me is the right one). I may try to call Eaton and see if they have old schematics available on...
Thank you for the responses.
I will see if I can obtain more info i.e. a good p.n. and the control voltage used.
He said that the coil is marked 110 a.c 50/60 hz, 110 d.c. From what he described it sounds like there is an internal rectifier, with a "small blck box" between one of the coil...
I don't post here often, but enjoy reading the posts concerning motor and controls- I've spent the last 40 yrs on low voltage D.C instrumentation........
Had a customer call the other day complaining that his Eaton Cutler Hammer size 6 contactor would not pull in- he gave a model no.A10JN0-C1...
Came across an Allen Bradley 509 motor starter component the other day and was interested to find out its'use. It was in the parts cabinet with verbage "load balancer" imprinted on it. Looked somewhat like an aux contact w/o the contact!
I am not sure of the physical layout, but the "vault" is adjacent to or part of a wet well at the auto plant. The pipe is embedded and protruding horizontally near the bottom of the well into the vault area. It is close coupled to the tee which feeds three 50 HP pumps. How would the pvc mat'l...
