    sizing of vane separators

Vendors include: Peerless Burgess Manning ConsepT CDS Engineering NATCO and many others. I found these by an internet search on vane Pack Separators.

    Gas Turbine Overpressure Protection

Why do you have a relief device on a turbine exhaust? is it not open to atmosphere?

    Offshore Plant Performance Monitoring

In my offshore experience this type of monitoring is only done when required by a project or specific reason. Generally trying to "steady" the operaiton is not always easy as many offshore facilities have their rates set by consumer demand and must be able to increase and decrease...

Fire and Non-Fire cases in Relief Valves?

The fire case relief is not always the determining relief case for a pressure vessel. In a fire, unless you have a vessel extremely full (which is rare on a platform) the relief is of vapour not liquid therefore you do not have liquid and gas being relieved during the fire relief. To determine...

Clarification of example given in API-520

I suggest you get a more up to date copy of API 520 - the latest is January 2000.

    TEG dehydration

There are various references around for doing first pass calculations, for example Campbell Gas text books. A vendor can also help, there are various around.

    foaming/carry over in amine scrubber

One suggestion is that at teh cooler temperatrue you got soem hydrocarbon liquid condensing which could cause the foaming. Have you tried approaching a vendor of amine systems to ask the question?

Slant cut on Relief Valve Outlet Piping

The last plant I was involved with had no slant, just an open end pointing upwards. The bottom of the upward leg had a small weep hole to deal with rain water.

    'Stock Tank' & 'Shrinkage' definitions

Stock tank conditions are standard conditions, that is 15 deg C and 101.3 kPaa (or other units as required). Shrinkage measures the difference in volume flow from reservoir conditions to stock tank conditions, alloqing for the light ends to flash off from the crude.

    Steam jet ejector

Transvac and Yarway re two reputable suppliers who have web sites.

    Desalter PSV calculation

Maxxum, If you are in the dense phase (above the critical point) then the relief has to be regarded as a thermal expansion of a vapour and the relief calculation becomes a little more difficult. Latent heat is not an issue under these conditions.

    Tubeside Rupture Protection

A couple of points to note: 1. ASME has been modified so that it is no longer a 2/3 rule - the hydrotest pressure has been changed from 1.5 times MAWP to 1.3 times. 2. For tube rupture in this case, if flashing is occurring across the tube break then the relief rate may be too high for a PSV to...

    glycol coil sizing

This should be a straight forward heat transfer calculation to determine the surface area required, then determine the number of coils to achieve the required area. A good heat transfer text will help you with this (try Process Heat Transfer by DQ Kern)

    find property

You shold be able to find it by doing an Internet search on 2 methyldecane. The CRC Rubber Handbook of Chemistry and Physics may also have something.
