    Cured In Place Pipe Rehab

Demon3 I appreciate the response. We have also seen reduction in strength when we don't plane the sample but leave the curvature. Any thoughts on this? Is there any reason to believe that curing the sample inside of a pipe and then releasing it to prepare for testing would lower the strength?

    Cured In Place Pipe Rehab

I am currently working on a project where we are using a cured in place liner that consists of an unsaturated polyester resin that is used to impregante a tube. The question I have is that samples taken from the tube in the field and cured in a plate configuration are consistently achieving...

Adding too much lime to soil

Has anyone encountered a scenario where a roadway is being lime stabilized and too much lime was added. Any known consequences of this high percentage of lime?

    Finding Seminars

I am located in Columbus, Ohio but am willing to travel. My primary interests are roadway construction, soil testing, soil stabilization, structural steel inspection, geosynthetics, concrete, asphalt, post-tensioning, etc. I am the Field Supervisor for a Geotechnical Lab & Field Services...

    Finding Seminars

Does anyone know of a location to find listings of seminars, classes, or conferences for civil engineering, construction, etc. I have tried searching for specific associations but it is very time consuming to do it that way. If there is a better place to post this thread let me know?

    Deairing water

I would like you to email the files but the forum will not allow posting of email addresses. I tried last time but it was deleted. I appreciate your help and would like to hear how the liquicel performs.

    Deairing water

plp This is very useful information. I would like to see the pics/plans you have and am going to consider the Liquicel membrane as well. It sounds like it might be within our budget. I am going to be gathering information for the next month or so and start building or purchasing a device by...

    Deairing water

I would like to be able to deair at least 5 gallons at a time and as much as 30 gallons a day. We have approximately 20 triaxial/permeability chambers.

    Deairing water

In geotechnical testing labs it is common for water used ing testing to be deaired. For example, triaxial testing and permeability testing. There are many deairing units available for sale but have relatively small capacities. I am considering building one for our new lab and am interested in...

    Welding & Bolt Inspection

I was referring to 1% for new construction including soil testing, concrete testing, foundation approval, structural steel, etc. Basically the testing and inspection for the entire project start to finish.

    Welding & Bolt Inspection

First, I appreciate the information and it is very helpful. I agree with you that the owner should dictate how the money is spent. I just have a problem with the lack of specific instructions. As a consultant i am often asked what would be our recommendation of how much inspection is done...

    Welding & Bolt Inspection

I understand the specs it just seems that most of the projects i am involved with the engineer/owner just throws out AWS D1.1 and there is not much clarification on how it is to be used. It appears base on the specs and what you are saying that this just shifts most of the responsibility to the...

    Welding & Bolt Inspection

I am in the Midwest and am trying to understand some industry practices for welding inspection. Most job specifications I see are using AWS D1.1 and RCSC for bolts. These specs are very clear but I find most of the welding inspectors locally and regionally are not following them. For...
