Greetings!
I have been asked to come up with a method of checking the sealing integrity of a double O-ring static seal arrangement. There is an interspace with a test tapping point. The seals are pressurised from the outside.
The acceptance criteria for the seal integrity is a specific volume...
The technical specification we have received from our customer says that 50 litre bottles will be supplied with a mixture of gas A and gas B at 200 barg. We also know that gas A will be 4.5% by volume and gas B 95.5% by volume. The temperature is also known.
How do I go about calculating what...
The default mass unit on my installation of NX4 is 'kg'. However, when I try to assert a value for mass only, the prompt line says 'Assert values (in G -Mm) or mark as unknown'.
Does anybody know why G i.e. grams seem to be the default or where it can be changed to kilograms instead.
Thanks in...
Does anybody have any info on Ferodo MP brake coating material? I am trying to find a modern equivalent as the MP spec may have contained asbestos. If you have a datasheet, so much the better.
Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your responses so far.
I've not heard of API-650 before, presumably it's an American standard. I wasn't aware of BS EN 1993-4-2 either, so I'll try and get hold of it.
The bottom will probably be conical shaped to help any sediment drain out. The tank it's replacing is...
Can anybody suggest a suitable design code (British or European preferably) for a vertical stainless steel storage tank which will contain an acidic solution?
The tank will have removable heaters, probably electric, to raise the temperature of the contents to about 50 deg Celsius. Will this...
I am creating a sketch with some curves which define some engraving for a part. I have got to the stage where my computer 'thinks' for a long time before creating a new constraint which would not normally cause a problem. Adding the final constraint also tends to make the sketch overconstrained.
Is there a defined number of entities within a sketch (i.e. curves and constraints) above which the software cannot cope?
Is this defined by the memory and speed of the computer?
Thanks in advance.
Fred.
I know what you mean. But this way allows the tolerance to stay associative to the geometry (unlike a line in expanded views) and doesn't rely on having an existing dimension in the right place (if adding to an existing extension line).
I tend to find this method more flexible and posted it as...
If you want to have an arrow pointing at 90 deg to the end surface, try this:
1. Create another horizontal dimension, as if you were adding another length dimension.
2. Edit the dimension by right-clicking on it.
3. Change placement to arrows out and drag the number in the dimension to either...
Thank you for all your contributions.
I am at a complete loss as to how a fairly useful standard like CP3 V-2 (in that it gave alternatives to square blocks) turned into BS 6399-2. CP3 gives force coefficients for different non-rectangular sections whereas 6399-2 gives the pressure coefficient...
Has anyone tried to use this standard to calculate the wind load on a cylindrical silo. I have got as far as getting the dynamic pressure, qs, but have no idea how to use Table 7 to get the overall pressure coeffient. Do I have to sum all the coefficients for every angle on the periphery and...
