    It resulted to be, according to the designer, a *line* breaker, in the sense of B31.4 434.15.2 (a). So, a check valve downstream and a automated ball valve upstream will be installed. Thank you, guys.

    I found this in a flow chart describing a group of pipes crossing a river (or the like). There are lines of brine, water and oil. Only the oil line has a "land breaker valve " on each side of the crossing. As the pipe is small, it seems to me like a typo - it should read " hand " not "land"...

    To buy the thing is certainly easier, but to build it is funnier. I´d use a Geneva wheel, with the suitable gear train. When loads are small, it´s precise enough to be used in movie projectors.

    A vessel has been fabricated in a way that its axis is parallel to the mill rolling direction of the plate - like a pipe. It has a small diameter ( 550 mm ) and thick wall ( 32 mm ). Is that acceptable, to ASME code?

    psafety, in addiction to the drain suggested, your vent may be covered with a light, loose lid ( attached by a string, to avoid beeing thrown away ). If the line doesn1t have constant flow, this will avoid any unexpected clogging.
